"I never touched a loom when I started this project. I learned how to weave from two retired weavers at the museum. There are a lot of old weavers in the region of Enschede who would be sad if their knowledge about their profession is lost."
Annemieke Koster founded the company Enschede Textielstad, a small-scale industrial weaving mill in Enschede. Her aim is to bring textile production back to the city that was one of the largest textile producing cities in Europe in the sixties. She wants to produce as local and sustainable as possible.
